Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is a domain? A: Your domain is the name of your site. For instance, my domain is onceuponapixel.com. Domains can be purchased from registrars at a very minimal cost with annual renewal fees. Q: What is hosting? A: Hosting is the purchase of your "space" on the internet. Hosting locates your website on a server. This server stores all of the information and files contained within your site. Hosting is affordably priced. I can recommend a host to you or you can choose your own. Q: How much will you charge to create my website? A: Every website is different. So, there is no one answer to this question. But, I can tell you that my design fees are not just competitive, but completely fair. Please contact me and I will be happy to give you a free, no obligation quote. No strings attached. Q: Besides the one-time charge for web creation, what annual charges should I be prepared for? A: You will be responsible for the cost of your domain and hosting. These charges are usually under $100 per year and are paid by you directly to your domain registrar and hosting service. The only charges you would incur from me after your website is completed and approved by you are maintenance charges. These maintenance charges would only be billed to you if you ask me to make changes or update your website. Q: After my website is completed, how much do you charge to make changes to my site to keep it updated? A: The current rate for maintenance charges is $30 per hour. Once you explain the types of updates you will require, I will be able to tell you how much time the updates will require. Q: Will I be able to make changes to my website; or do you have to? A: If you have the technical skills required to maintain your own website, you are free to do so. However, I cannot be responsible in any way if you choose to perform maintenance on your website and a fatal error occurs. I can only be responsible for such error if I am the sole person performing maintenance on your website. Q: How long does it take you to complete a site? A: Depending on the size and complexity of your website, your website may be completed in as little as two days or as much as a month. Once you decide you would like to work with me and we discuss the details of your site, I will be able to more-accurately answer this question for you. |
